You are very welcome. For as gooffy as some of the text is, it was still my best and most serious effort at commenting on every hexagram and moving line.  I'm so glad  you enjoy it.

General Discussion / Re: Well .... I'm off to Taiwan
« on: July 26, 2015, 11:35:34 AM »
I'm back from my trip to Taiwan and am reporting in!
I first have to thank hosts Stephen Tarot and Carol Lee (and Oscar Tam who got the ball rolling) and my interpreter Xu Zhao Zhang (who I met in Shanghai last year)
I had a non-stop pleasurable visit.  That's not to say I didn't work.
One of my books (Understanding Aleister Crowley's Thoth Tarot) has recently been translated and published in Chinese. I'm thrilled to say it is selling well in China too!  :-)  I presented 4 half-day workshops on Saturday and Sunday and did private Tarot readings and magick consultations. I also gave a mini Goetic workshop on Sunday evening.
I arrived in Taipei  Thursday night (after a 13 hour plane ride) and was picked up at the airport by Stephen and Carol and taken to my hotel.
Friday was a full day of seeing the sights of Taipei. First at the The National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, and then off to the breathtaking National Palace Museum with it's 12,000 years of Chinese treasures.
At night we walked over to the Night Market (just blocks from my hotel) for a taste of .... damned near EVERYTHING!
All day Saturday I spent at the serene and charming yoga center (forgive me for forgetting the exact name) presenting my workshops on:
The Qabalistic Roots of Tarot in the morning, and Introduction to Enochian Magick in the afternoon.
All Day Sunday I presented: Introduction to Goetia and Homemade Magick.
Sunday night I experienced some marvelous Chinese medical treatments for my ageing shoulder stiffness .... I can now move my left arm over my head again! :-)

Monday, before being driving to the airport for my flight home I gave a private Tarot reading and a past life magical operation.  Then off to the top of one of the tallest buildings in the world, Taipei's 101. Then to the National Dr.Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall
Then out to dinner an off to the airport. Far too short a visit to one of the most interesting and beautiful cities in the world.

General Discussion / Well .... I'm off to Taiwan

Well .... I'm off to the airport in a couple hours. This time tomorrow I should be in Taipei trying to get over jet-lag and pull myself together for two days of Tarot/Magick workshops and maybe a song or two. Will give a full report when I return.

Okay. It's probably clear that I love July. The fact that my birthday is July 11th and I love getting all the birthday attention probably has something to do with it. For years I've irritated everyone around me by demanding the entire month of July be recognized (at least in my presence) my birthday holiday. This year, because of my travel schedule, the release of "Sweet Baba Lon" , and some very exciting bookings (House of Blues and The Viper Room) the folks at Ninety-Three Records have declared it International Lon Milo DuQuette Month. A week after my birthday (did I mention my birthday is July 11?) I'm hopping on a plane to Taiwan to do two days of lectures about Tarot and Magick. Later this year, in October, I'll be traveling back to Shanghai (I went there for the first time last year) to do a similar series of lectures. As far as I know they have not scheduled a music event (club date, concert, set) but if there is a guitar within reach they will not escape a Lon-song or two .... especially if I remind them it is International Lon Milo DuQuette month and my birthday. (Did I mention my birthday is July 11th) ... I'll be 67. Love you. Lon  ;D

Lon Milo DuQuette / Going Hollywood?

I don't know what stars have lined up in my horoscope but something incredibly fun is happening.
The last couple years have found me traveling the world talking about Crowley, Tarot, Qabalah, and Magick, but also, almost every country and city that I visit I also do a musical show at a local nightclub or public venue. I've played Tokyo's famed SuperDeluxe, Berlin's X Bar, and clubs in Krakow Gdansk, Oslo, Glasglow, London, and Vancouver. Here in the US I've been insanely lucky to play some of the coolest clubs in the country, including New York City's hippest and historic Caffe Vivaldi, Kenny's Castaway, and Susan Saradon's SpinNYC; Chicago's Uncommon Ground (both of them); Austin's Carousel Lounge (formerly owned by Jack Ruby), and Dallas' Sons of Hermann Hall.
But until just a few weeks ago I haven't done too much in my own backyard of Southern California. That changed two weeks ago when I was called and invited to play a set at one of the most famous music venue's in the world, Hollywood's HOUSE OF BLUES. Wow! It was an evening I'll never forget and it almost instantly earned me an invitation to play again in Hollywood, this time at the celebrated VIPER ROOM.  I'll be playing there on Aug. 6th and if you are in the LA area I hope you can come and be part of the fun.
